Why iheart

The mental health crisis is getting worse, not better.
Huge attention and resources have been placed on the youth mental health crisis in recent years. Yet, the crisis is getting worse, not better.
Why is that? How is it that despite all this effort, many solutions do not seem to be working?
The answer: most well-intentioned efforts are focused on solving the wrong problem.
Existing solutions have assumed that today’s youth have a resilience deficit, thus creating programmes to ‘build’ or ‘create’ resilience.
But what if there is a radically different way to understand resilience and wellbeing?

But what if there is a radically different way to understand resilience and wellbeing?

What if resilience is built-in, innate to every human being?
Knowing this would completely change the approach needed for today’s youth – and this is exactly what iheart has achieved. Our innovative, evidence-based mental wellbeing educational programme challenges current practices and outlooks, and has already improved the lives of over 15,000 young people in twenty countries.
One of our core values is to be respectfully disruptive.
Our role is to educate young people that they do NOT have a resilience deficit. Rather, we empower them with the confidence that they CAN uncover their built-in mental health, wellbeing and resilience so that they can overcome their challenges and realise their extraordinary potential.
